Stina Klemming, MD, is a consultant neonatologist, Co-Director, NIDCAP Trainer and FINE Trainer for the Lund-Malmö NIDCAP Training and Research Center, Sweden.

Dr. Klemming worked at the Astrid Lindgrens Children’s Hospital and the Karolinska NICU from 2002-2022. She was Director of the Karolinska NIDCAP Training and Research Center 2018-2021. She is active in the research group for the randomized clinical trial IPISTOSS (Immediate Parent Infant Skin-TO-Skin Study). She promotes Infant- and Family-Centered Developmental Care according to NIDCAP on a national and international level. She chairs the IFCDC group within the Swedish Neonatal Society. The concept of “mother-newborn couplet care” and immediate skin-to-skin contact are her special interests and competencies. She co-chaired a large multiprofessional work group assigned from the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions that in 2024 published The Swedish National Guidelines on Uninterrupted Initial Skin-to-Skin Contact and Mother-Newborn Couplet Care.

Dr. Klemming chairs the organizing committee for the Swedish Conference on Ultra-Early Intervention since 2018.
